How Deep is a Hollowbody II

can anyone please tell me the exact depth of a PRS Hollowbody ll at its deepest, which is presumably at the bridge. I am a bit ham fisted and find it increadibly difficult to measure. The only "depth" measurement I can find online is the body, which when I am trying to find if it will fit in a new case bought mail order is not a lot of use.
Many thanks to anyone who can help, cheers Steve.

Body depth is 3". So 3" plus the height of your bridge at its tallest point.

Thanks for your replies. I of course do have a PRS hardcase that came with it and it is frankly a poor excuse for a case, hence I need a better one.

The PRS case which comes with the Hollowbody line is excellent in my opinion.

Did you buy the guitar new?

That's the standard core case for an HB. It's a fantastic case. I'm curious to hear why the OP describes it as "a poor excuse for a case."
My HB case is the best I've ever owned, this puzzles me too. Has to be a non PRS case.

I've been looking at HB's again and I still can't afford one but I might be able to swing a case:D

Some grim humor from Guitar Center, back in the day:

I'd just pushed my credit card across the counter at GC to buy a HB-II. It was on sale for a good discount by GC standards, but still, it was more money than I'd ever spent on a guitar. I'd have to sell off a couple good ones to cover this. I was kinda shakey, but resolute. It was a fantastic guitar.

GC clerk looks at me and says, "Do you want the case, too?"

(no, I'll just take it home in this black garbage bag I bought.)

Another several hundred dollars for the case - and they still lost the case candy.

=K

Hi, yes I bought it new and yes it is the same as the case shown above. Mine after just a couple of years has the stitching on the handle coming apart, the "fall back" prevention strip has simply come away from the body, I feel the latches (although they haven't let go yet) feel that they aren't up for the job.
In general for such a top end guitar this comes across to me as a cheap and nasty effort by PRS. Of course YMMV and obviously does.
For the person who said measure the existing case, I really don't know how to measure the inside depth as presumably there is compression on closing it.
I am torn as to either replace it with a better quality hard case or maybe a quality gig bag, I am leaning towards the latter although to be fair I have been toying with a gig bag for a while. Now that Mono has brought out a semi-hollow vertigo maybe time to pull the trigger.
Anyway, thanks for the responses , I guess no one has the depth measurement to hand.

I have HB cases that are over 10 years old and none of them are experiencing any of the failures you relate...

You miss this response at post #3 in this thread?
