Davey
Just Jammin'
I hope everyone is doing well. I missed you guys.
I took a break from everything after retiring. Wanted to get things in perspective and clear up some loose ends.
Mrs. Davey and I did some traveling. Took some time to just relax and enjoy life.
Since we got back home, I've been working on some projects. I won't bore everyone with every detail, but I did get a pair of Adirondack chairs built, wife is happy, so she has some of you guys to thank for these chairs. (you know who you are )
Again, I won't bore everyone with all of the minute details, but I know we all like guitars and guitar pictures and I did just finish working in the front garage to get my equipment set up again. The house we purchased last year has a 3-car garage in front with one bay what they call boat deep. The entire garage is air conditioned, so I planned on making the boat deep bay my gear area.
Didn't take a whole lot of photos, sometimes I get going on a project and its full steam ahead and I forget to grab the camera.
I started by cleaning everything and etching the garage floor for primer and paint. walls got a fresh coat of paint as well.
Once the rear wall was painted, I installed the rear cabinets, then proceeded onto finishing the other walls
Once the paint was dry, I started setting up speaker cabinets at one end.
Picked up a couple hardware store wire shelving racks and cut out some plywood for shelving and glued/covered the shelves with interior/exterior carpet for some amp racks.
The I set up the racks of tone (amps, attenuator and switcher and routed all cables)
Added an SLO 100 recently.
and then it was getting the desk, keyboards and all the other items set up.
Plus getting all the guitar support stuff, tubes, pickups, cleaners, etc. The garage cabinets sure came in useful for that stuff and gave me a nice guitar set up area as well.
Turned out just fine for me. Didn't do any acoustical treatments, at least not yet. It's not a professional studio, but I am not a professional, I'm just a guitar nerd like most. I'll get some it ironed out as I go. It's just a nice place to escape and play when I want.
It's been a fun road, now onto the next project.... more on that later.
Looking forward to catching up with everyone.
