Hollowbody Strings

My HB2 had 9s on it when I got it and sounded fine now has 10s just because I am too heavy handed to play 9s all the time

D'Addario 110W's - .10's with a wound G. They sound and play great on my Hollowbody Spruce. In fact, I've used these strings on several electrics on the past. Never cared for the feel of an unwound G string. Minority opinion, I know...

My HB ii has 10's at the moment and I didn't realise that 11's were the original.
I'm going to try 10-52 next string change - Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom.
We're expecting 39 degrees Celsius today, so I might sit by the air con and give my guitars some love.

For those using a wound 3rd string, is that more for the acoustic and jazz sounds? I'm more into rock/Blues/pop, do unsure how it would go. Maybe I just need to give it a try one day

Years of playing mostly acoustic made me not "comfortable" with an unwound G. The 110W's wound G is only .18 - not really much difference. FYI, Jimmy Herring plays EJ20's, Jazz Extra Light, with wound G of .22.
