Does anyone gave a Hollowbody 12, as currently shown in the PRS catalog?
Thoughts on the instrument as configured?
Cant find a dealer who stocks this guitar, so would have to consider special order?
thankx.

Yes, I've got one, a 2012 model in Black Gold. It's an outstanding guitar. Normally I wouldn't normally give the Archtop pickups the time of day either but in this context they work. I think because this guitar for me anyway is played 100% clean the lower output suits it. That said, they are easily changeable of course.

The individual saddles are amazing... and the guitar stays in tune better than most.

The range of tones is good. On the bridge pickup through a compressor set hard and fast I can do a passable Roger McGuinn jangle sound.

It is a tricky one to find as PRS only makes them to order - so there will be a several month waiting period if you do order one. I definitely will never need another electric 12 though.

This is not the greatest photo as the camera flash kinda makes the top look flat, but here it is. This one's not a 10 top, obviously, but I could care less as it sounds superb.

Yes i do. It is my avatar. I have a 2013 model. The only difference is the pups. Mine has archtops, and the 2014 has 57-08s, which are even sweeter. The guitar is just as advertised. Plays so sweet and easy. Easy to tune and stays in tune. It is a very light guitar and the neck is just right, not as bulky as many 12 string necks go. I ordered mine as their was never, ever anyone with one for me to try out. Ordering from PRS is never a problem. I ordered mine with the ten top and purple hazel custom color. You will not go wrong with this guitar. I sold my acoustic 12 string as it is simply not needed. While it does not have a piezo it can easily be EQ'd with the amp to ensure an acoustic tone. I play through a Fender ultralight acoustasonic head (best acoustic amp out there) into two stereo acoustasonic cabinets and have great results. My results are just as good through my Mesa Boogie. This guitar IS THE STANDARD for what an electric 12 string should be, Bar-None! With that said and as a side note, I hear everyear that they might cancel this model and make it a PS option only. If you are going to do it, pull the trigger ASAP. It is not outside the box to think this model could be pulled as models get added and cancelled with the upcoming NAMM

Those twelve strings look great, guys.

As rarely as I ever need one for a project it'd still be something great to have!

I recommend avoiding playing one at all costs then. Once you try it...
