I assume you are referring to 57/08 pickups. I don't own a PRS 12 string, but I have played several, and found them to be wonderful instruments, and I certainly wouldn't expect any problems.
Just make sure that you can get the 12 string tone you want out of it. What I mean is the HB-12 doesn't have any coil split capabilities for its' pickups (anyone correct me if I'm wrong on this), and you may find it a bit harder to get some classic 12 string jangle single coil tones from it. If you like the warmer sounds from your 12 strings, it will certainly give you that.
I have two electric 12 strings from brands that will remain nameless, one built into an old doubleneck with dual humbuckers, and the other with toaster single coils. The humbucker 12 is better for harder rock applications, and the singles do the "classic" electric 12 sound (jangle-jangle-jangle....).
You might watch out for one of the older Custom 22 12 strings, as they include a single coil between the two humbuckers and can cover a lot of different 12 string tones.

not a 12 string

sorry typo please see my post

Sorry, I misunderstood, I thought you were talking about 12 strings (your thread title says 12, and the Hollowbody 12 is a current model). 58/15 pickups are really great, I have the uncovered versions (85/15) in my custom 24 and they are my favorite PRS pickups. The Piezo works great as well and with the right processing through a PA or acoustic amp can cover for an acoustic/electric very well.
Other members here rave about the hollowbody II, I've played them and I would love to get one. Go for it!

Hi Stevie, Welcome to the forum. I own a Hollowbody II Singlecut with the older 57/08 pickups and piezo system. I love mine to death! I have a McCarty 594 which has the 58/15LT (low turn) pickups and they sound spectacular in a solid body, I can only imagine how good they would sound in a HBII. I say go for it, if you have the cash you can't go wrong with the HBII and 58/15's.

Stevie - The PRS HB II is a fantastic guitar! My 2015 model has 57-08's in it so I can't really comment on the 58-15's. I don't think you will be dissapointed. As goat-n-glitter said "Go for it"!

Hi Thanks guys it sounds an exciting concept and to mix both piaza and pickups is amazing it fits the bill for my style of playing ballad rock i hope i can change the 11s guage strings to 10s (as i am used to 9s on my c22) for vibrato with out upsetting the action is this possible or will the nut have to be changed ? OMG!

My HB II came with 11's from the factory with a wound G string. I immediately fell in love with the piezo, but I also play the blues & I found that I could not bend the G string up a full step without a lot of effort and some pain. So I decided that I would replace the wound G string with an unwound G string. Then after consulting with others here about what would happen if I took the plunge and went to 10's, I went ahead and did it. Long and short, piezo tone still very good (my biggest concern with switching to lighter strings). After the string change everything was fine for about 2 weeks, then I started noticing some string buzzing, especially the bass E string. I then had a proper set up done (a truss rod adjustment was all that was required) and have had no problems since and I am really glad that I made the change to the 10's. My fingers thank me everyday and tones are fantastic.

To be honest, if I had to do it over, I would have had my dealer order me a HB II with 10's on it directly from the factory, even if I had to wait 3 months to get it and put up a down payment. Never thought about replacing the nut and no one on this forum mentioned it to me when I was think of going to 10's, but it is certainly worth some consideration.

I think, but not 100% sure, but the P22 comes with 10's (but its not a hollowbody...)

Hi know how critcal the nut width measurement has to be to avoid binding which caused the strings to go out of tune. I have used 400s grit paper to gently file the sides of the nut slots but avoiding the bottom of the nut so as not to go too deep. When i have fitted a set of strings and cut off the excess length i have kept them as feeler guages, so i can test for binding and use a little graphite powder around the slots to help the glide. Maybe a thou is all that is needed so if a nut has been made to suit 11s guage strings and then a set of 10s guauge are fitted i am dure the nut slots will be tight. I am not 100% sure what material is being used may be HDPE or a teflon imptegnated plastic but it could shrink / expand marginally in various tempretures mine has i hope this helps you suprised you wasnt informed on this forum as thete sre some very knowlegable people good luck !
