High output 57/08?

I saw a GC limited Custom 24 and on the hang tang it said it had a high output 1957/2008 in the bridge and never heard that described before with high output handwritten out. Obviously early pickups but were they made with extra winds? Anyone know anything about it?

Never heard of high output ones. I know the older ones definitely sound different from the newer ones. Looks like a mystery that needs to be solved.

Yeah I had some 1957/2008 labelled pups and they were fantastic and would be interested in a hot version. On paper sounds like a early version of a 59/09?

I have vague memories of a GC special run that had those pickups in the specs. Don't think that was a thing on any other runs I can think of. Couldn't say whether that had anything to do with the 59/09s or not, that was a long time ago.
