i finally got my first PRS it's the se ce 24 satin charcoal and I like the stock hummbuckers but I feel like they aren't just right I was thinking some Seymour Duncan but not sure, I play a lot of Metallica, slayer and just heavy and thrash stuff

If You Want To Go With A Duncan Pickup Then Throw In A Nazgul And Never Look Back. It Is One Of The Best Riff, Chug Pickups Out There IMO. I Will List Some Other Great Pickups I Like For That Musical Style Below.

PRS - \M/, Tremonti
BKP - Aftermath, Polymath, Black Dog, Rebel Yell, Nailbomb (Ceramic), Juggernaut, War Pig, Ragnarok
Duncan - Nazgul, Alpha/Omega, Black Winter, Pegasus, Thrash Factor
Suhr Aldrich

When you say they aren't just right, how exactly? Are they thin, muddy, etc.
knowing what they're not doing for you would help with suggestions.

Have you tried adjusting the height of the pickups? That may get you where you want to be.

A CE is going to be a naturally bright sounding guitar with its bolt on maple neck, so I'd recommend the Tremonti Treble as it's more bass and mid heavy and the highs are a bit more rounded off. A lot of ceramic high output pickups are pretty bright so that could be a bit of a toxic combination with an already bright guitar. Just remember to roll back the bass a little bit with that pickup so it doesn't sound woofy, but it cuts through the mix really well.

For non PRS pickups, the Bare Knuckle Pickup Nailbomb is INCREDIBLE, The Alnico version works really well with my Floyd Rose equipped guitar with the increased midrange over the ceramic version.
