Hi New here and with a question about artist series colors

Hi,

Just though I'd introduce myself and also ask a question. I've been playing guitar for almost 7 years. Just at home never with a band or anything like that. I would never have time even if I wanted to so its a bit of hobby for me and over the years I've collected a lot of guitars.

I currently own 2 prs guitars and I am looking to order one more. The two I own is a PRS SE single cut in royal blue(not sure on the color name) and a S2 McCarty single cut tobacco burst. I am looking finally ready to own one of the core series models and I was looking at the custom 24 w/ piezo. I was also looking at possibly upgrading the guitar with the artist package.

Here is my question where can I find samples of all of the artist series color or top options. The PRS site lists all of the available colors in the artist series but there are no pictures. Does anyone know where I can look at all of the available colors/tops that are currently offered with the artist series package?

Google is your friend. Do an image search on "prs copperhead burst artist quilt" for example. It will give you a good idea of how a color can vary by the top and by different lighting.
 
PRS' finishes DO seem to vary with the top. All of them are gorgeous, but certain woods with certain stains may "speak" to you differently. I am with garrett - just search and use that as your guide. I have NEVER ended up with an "ugly" PRS....
 
I thought about googling and I have googled a few of colors I was just unsure if the colors change in appearance over time or if the guitars is repainted etc.... there is also on mention of the top is available in flame or quilted.

I agree about never seeing an ugly prs but if I'm ordering one and I have the option I may find some look nicer to me than others.

They are not. This is Burnt Orange

They actual color may be the same, or close to it. But, Burnt Maple Leaf is always as part of a charcoal burst, so you just get it on the edges. At least that's all I've ever seen called BML
 
Yeah that is a big difference. Thank you so much everyone. I am looking forward to this process. This is the first time that I will be ordering a guitar from PRS. my other guitars were already on the showroom floor at the local guitar store.

Charcoal cherry burst is a fun colour. Your guitar will kick butt.

And yeah, "the waiting is the hardest part". I have a guitar on order that likely won't arrive until November, maybe December. I have another that has been on order since August of last year or so, was supposed to be here in March, but has now slipped to May.

Fortunately I have a bunch of other PRSi to play in the meantime. Including a P24 (old name for Custom 24 Piezo)!

Really that long? Wow I guess I'm in for a long wait
 
I thought I'd update everyone. I ended up canceling my order because I found a p22 10 top for the same price at another local guitar store. I walked in just to look around and it caught my eye hanging behind the counter. I asked if I could play it, the shop owner handed me the guitar and set me up in a room filled with amps. After about 10 minutes I decided to take it home with me. What a fantastic instrument easily the best one I own.

It's not the color I originally picked and its 22 frets not 24. And the bridge is also quite different not a trem. But after playing this one, none of that really mattered anymore

What is interesting about this one is that it has an ebony board and ebony veneer headstock the inlays and headstock logo are also abalone. Also, i'm also not sure if this is a common thing on core series guitars but the back is a one piece.

I asked the ship owner about this as there was a bunch of custom 22's and 24's there and none of them had these options. He told me he ordered a 10 top p22 and that is what he got. He did say that it's the only p22 he have ever ordered that came in like this and that it resembled more of a artist series p22 than the standard 10 top. Anyhow I'm super happy with it.

I'd like to upload some pictures of it but I can't seem to figure out how can someone help me out?
 
You have to use a 3rd party image hosted ng site, Imgur/Google etc. and upload the sharing code in the body of your text.

Incidentally, all of the Core PRSes with mahogany backs have one-piece backs standard.
 
Tha is for the tip on the picture upload Alnus. Yeah it's hard to leave it behind when all of things your looking for in a guitar is in your hands. Thanks LSchefman for letting me know about the one piece backs I was not aware of that.
