Wow what a long and winding road I've traveled these last 2-3 weeks. Long story short I injured my lower back, ,MRI showed a severely herniated L-5/S-1. I entered Georgetown Hospital on a recent Wednesday in May to have the damaged disc removed, a rod, plated, caged, fused and screwed erector set built in my lower back.

All seemed well until the infections wanted to come out and jam. My kidneys nearly shutdown, my bladder is infected and I developed a UTI from a catheter that was still in there from pre-op in late May. Two full weeks, 30lbs and two hospitals later I'm finally home.

Now the long road to recovery begins, but I'm spoiling for a good fight!

Did I miss anything noteworthy?

Great to be back,

Damn - glad you're back, even better to hear you're okay.

Good luck with the recovery.

And don't try the Katy Perry bounce.

Glad to hear you are on the mend. Take your therapy seriously and don't rush - you'll get there.

BTW, while you were gone PRSh gave every forum member active at the time, well, nuttin', absolutely nuttin'. So, you didn't miss anything.

Sounds like you had a time of it, but glad you're back! You seem to be in good spirits, too, which is a very good thing.

Dude, glad to hear you're on the mend. Captain Retrospect might suggest that you should have lived with the herniated disk. Welcome back!

Damn...best wishes for a full recovery. And, if you need any help lifting all of those beautiful guitars in your collection while you heal, I am sure you can find a few volunteers out here.

Welcome back!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Phys ther started today, I'll be fine. It won't be fun or easy but I'll do what needs doing to heal. One positive note from this, all the horrible, crippling leg pains are completely gone.

I wonder what the co-pay will be on two weeks of hell? 2 or 3 PRSi?

That's a great attitude to have after the two weeks you've had. Glad that you're doing better and that you're back!

Really sorry to hear about that. Back pain is about as bad as it can be. Sounds like you are really toughing it out, way to go! Hang in there!

Good to hear.

Yeah man...you'll certainly have to treat yourself after.
