HFS/VB question

I was talking with a guy that claims Paul got away from hfs/vb pickups because he couldn't get those exact magnets anymore and that those same pickups today sound much different than the ones made early on

I have NEVER heard anybody mention this before nor do I believe it.

Am I wrong????

The Cu24s with the HFS/VB from '06 and prior were vastly superior and command a significant premium to the newer ones. They go for at least twice as much, are worth every penny, and will only continue to appreciate over time.
