Did you put any insulation in it?

No, but I built it with a removable panel in the back so I can go open back or closed back. The only insulation I used was self sticking foam tape to close off any gaps so it would have compression in closed back mode. ....also a little on the lip where I mounted the speaker to prevent any rattle.
