Hey Chicagoans! Restaurant suggestions?

For steak I'd probably just go to Gibsons in the viagra triangle off Rush. Also, Michael Jordan's on Michigan Ave is pretty good and a hit when I have visitors with the MJ and Chicago history.

Chicago's Dog House on Fullerton has the best "snap" in the city but tons of good choices that'll do if you just want a Chicago style dog.

Detroit style Pizza is why.. Buddy's Rocks! And Union Squared in Evanston is probably the best deep style pizza in Chicagoland. Yum yum
That’s just hot Focaccia. I’m not sayin’ it’s bad but.. it’s focaccia.

And clearly I have to make allowances for pizza makers outside of the blast zone epicenter of Chicago, but it’s 50 miles tops.

Seriously why debate pizza with someone from Michigan? I only talk pizza with people from Chicago, New York, and Naples (not Florida). :p
you forget sicily.

Call the crust whatever we want, it's still good stuff that doesn't wreck your gut and family's plumbing!

Detroit Pizza is worthy of the big 3 for US Pizza.. Heck, maybe only 3? Who else is there? Chicago, Detroit, and NY

Best pizza to me without naming a specific joint is NYC. Something about walking the block eating a folded slice..

California is the third. As f**ked up as that sounds.

you just lost cred with ‘oregon or washington’, omg
I still got Portland though, which is all that matters since everyone who lives there is from somewhere else.

California Pizza Kitchen lol

In a frozen foods near you
they do a great cauliflower crust, tastes like barfing. plus there’s shrimp on it.

I’m not sayin’ I endorse it, but I respect them for actually trying to come up with a style.

I may as well start melting ice cream in a square bowl and calling it Detroit Style Soup. :p

well, i lived in portland a long time and made it what it is, but i had to get out and now i live down the coast, on top of a former pizzaria with a huge insane wood-burning ‘chicago pizza oven’, the biggest one they make.

pizza is too much work tho, so i’m pivoting to ‘hard liquor jewish deli’. still gothwave, obviously.

You lost credibility when you failed to include Muncie.

Pizza King is storied by many PRSers having attended Markiepalooza including travelers as far away as Australia to New Castle (not England*). Can I hear an Amen?!!

* Did u c what I did there?

What Chicagoans call tavern style is pretty similar to Detroit pizza - just not as good! (only teasing, some is, some isn't)
Both yummy....I mean really, you have to push it pretty far to get "bad" pizza. But, not close to the same thing.

Chicago Tavern Style.....really thin
