I received my brand new prs wood library DGT three weeks ago and I’ve noticed a lot of issues with the finish, mostly this new guitar was in used condition. I’m waiting on a response from the dealer. One thing I also noticed, as soon as I unboxed the guitar, was the six trem screws all didn’t seem to be lining up the same way. The g string screw is off a little. Is this an issue or anything that needs to be adjusted? The other five line up. Could it have left the factory this way? I feel like I remember they are supposed to line up but it’s been a while since I’ve had a prs trem. I really have a feeling this guitar was a demo or a return and I’m just trying to have all the info to go up against the dealer.

Hmm I need to think a little more about your post before I respond to quickly lol, the only pic you show is of the bridge not the condition of the guitar so I won’t comment on that part of your post. As far as the term screws the Phillips head screw on the G string is fine the slots in the screws or on any fastener for the most part has nothing to do with alignment it’s actually the height of those six screws that matters for set-up. Just happens that five of them happen to line up (slots in there heads) which is not a measuring point of that fastener. I wouldn’t worry about the screws orientation. If your unhappy with the condition of the guitar when you received it I would discuss that with your dealer as my opinion doesn’t matter and shouldn’t. There I go said I wasn’t going to comment on it ah it’s Friday.

I made a post about the condition when I received it three weeks ago. Everyone said the guitar should be returned. I was just wondering about the trem cause I could have sworn I heard they were all supposed to line up as well as be the same height. Every full rotation is supposed to be 2/3” I think but it’s been a while since I’ve had a prs with a trem.

Here’s a link about the condition of the guitar if you are interested. I really like the top and color and hopefully the dealer can do something or else it probably will be returned. The dealer called three weeks ago to ask for more pictures and then never got back to me.

Listen Joefods, this is not funny.I can understand your concern about the finish but when it comes to the tremolo most prsowners know that each screw has a notch. They have to line up.John Mann has a video about it but it’s perfectly setup from the factory .Im just curious how one screwhead caught your attention when unboxing? If I unbox the first thing I do is to play it acoustically, feel the neck, how it rings.Next step is plug it in to see how it sounds, how it perform.Last step for me is details like neck pocket on a bolt on,how the knobs work, tremolo action(too stiff or to loose). If I’m happy a long period of playing starts with me finetuning the action, trossrod, pickupheight Etc etc.I’m never concerned about the finish, only about how it sounds, feel and perform. But if it’s a new guitar scratched like yours I would of course ask for a better price and keep it if I like how it sounds. If I don’t “feel” the guitar it doesn’t matter if it’s scratched or not.I would return it.

Yes, as Swede says, the lining up is about the notch in the screws.

However, from your description that guitar must have been a return, or has seen considerable play in the shop. and I would be plenty pissed if I paid for a lovely WL only to have it come in with either shop wear or as a return item.

I'd return it.
