Hi

I've recently bought a 2006 SE Singlecut. The guy I bought it off said it had had a problem with a pick up but he'd had it fixed. When I played it i noticed the was no difference between switch position. So the fix was to wire the pickups together.

Can anyone help me with how it should be wired. I think there was a problem with the switch but cleaning it solved this. It just need it to be wired up correctly. Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks.

Thanks. I have, as far as I know the original pickups but also a coil tap switch. One pickup has 4 wires coming out but 2 red/white are to ground. The other pickup has only 1 wire.

As I’m still messing. I only have one string on (D) and the coil switch doesn’t seem to have any change on the sound.

The pickup switch does seem to work but there is a massive sound and volume difference between bridge and neck pickups. Is this because one is humbucker and the other isn’t?

I just have nothing to compare it with.

Hi readers.

I have solved my problem.

Searching on the internet I found a wiring diagram which closely resembled my set up. These were from Seymour Duncan pickups where as I have G&B.

So, the neck pick up has one hot wire not and this goes to one side of the toggle.

The bridge pickup has 3 wires the red and white are fastened together and go to one side of the single coil switch on the tone control and the hot wire to the other side of toggle.

All seems to be working correctly. But if you know I’ve got it wrong please let me know.

If anyone wants a wiring diagram I can hand draw one.

Thanks
