Well the time has come for me to reach out to my friends, guitar buddies and family to ask for your help in supporting me to raise funding in an effort to bring clean drinking water to children in Africa. I am running the Chicago Marathon THIS SUNDAY! I am on Team World Vision which is the charity providing the support for this project. This is also a project that supports women, as it is common for girls in a village to be tasked with the job of hauling water from long distances back to theirs homes. This difficult job keeps them from attending school and growing in their lives. Help me help them!!

NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL and I personally will match all donations (capped)!!!

Just click on the link below. Thanks!

Brians a great guy !!! anyone one will to run 26 miles is special in my book

From my FB page:
It is the day after the Marathon and I am a Finisher!!! I didn't know if this day would come again since my last one in 2001. This was my third and most likely last one. I am very proud of my Son In Law Geoff Buerger who ran his first one on Sunday. He is an amazing athlete and ran a 3:51! I am in a great amount of pain today, as I was injured during the run. It was bitter sweet in that the last few miles were VERY TOUGH and I wanted to quit but pushed through to the goal. "My Time" went out the window but the reality is matching 2001's time was a stretch goal. I am 17 years older and a different pants size.

I am blessed to have such wonderful friends and relatives who helped me raise $3, 665.00 for charity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can I get an Amen!

The Charity Team I ran with, Team World Vision who provides water to areas in need in Africa, had their team dinner on Saturday night. Our Team is the biggest Charity Team in the Marathon with over a thousand runners, 173 just from my church alone. There were about 5 thousand in attendance. This was part pep rally and part carb fest. I had a few special moments when they had people stand if...
Stand if this was your first marathon, then second, then third - by then there were just a few of us.
Next it was age, by the time they got to over 55 again I was one of just a few (there was a guy 75 running!)
Lastly it was stand if you raised X amount - I was honored to be at a level most had not attained yet humbled by what amazing amounts others had achieved. This was most important one and I received a special "Hero Medal" shown in the photo.
