Hi everybody ,hope your all good so I have a big birthday coming up and have decided after many years of not playing to finally get back into my electric guitar playing.
My musical tastes are varied anything from Gospel to Disturbed.
My previous Electrics have been Prs se Tremonti standard,Fender cp 60,s strat, fender telecasters, and various acoustics.
Of all these I found that the prs scale length suited me the most however I found the tremonti a little too brash

so I was thinking what Prs se model would suit my varied musical tastes,I like the following models
Prs se Paul’s guitar
Prs se custom 22 and 24

can anyone help with these or any other se alternatives.giving me there honest and truthful experience budget is max 900

thanks in advance

My vote is the a se 24-08 or se 35th Cu24 35th anniversary for the most musical diversity, "Gospel to disturbed." They also have the same neck profile as the Tremonti.

Check out and watch Daves used inventory for a smoking price and excellent dealer.

Hi thanks for the reply I,ll definitely consider those, i really liked the neck on the tremonti,so that’s a great start that they have the same neck profile

Good news is by the looks of our first two posts at the same time there is no wrong choice!!!

Another thing is to decide if you want trem or no trem.

Welcome to the forum, congratulations on your upcoming landmark birthday.

Pauls Guitar is a bit of a Swiss Army knife, it has a lot of usable tones.

If you can, go and play them, A/B (C) if you can.
Hi and thanks, yes probably a good idea to go and try a couple out before I buy but my Wife wants to surprise me from 2 i narrow the choice down too,so I’m just sort of seeing what you recommend at the moment

Hi thanks for all your help,I’ve found a new 35th anniversary custom 24 for sale at 865 in fade blue seems like a really cool guitar

You're welcome!

IMHO It's the best se cu24. I've owned quite a few and played countless more. The wiring configuration is like a 24-08 and TCI pickups plus the added cool factor of being an anniversary with those abalone birds that look awesome with the blue.

But if you want no trem, it has a trem. You could always block it or deck it, but honestly I'd give it a shot before you did that.

Hi ,thanks everyone for all there help and input,I’ve narrowed it down to just two now
The se Paul’s guitar or the 35 th anniversary se custom 24.I’m going to leave the choice to my wife for the surprise element,I’ll be made up to back playing electric again so either will be great
.in the meantime I’ve restrung my semi acoustic that I still have and am back playing again(quite surprised how well it’s going since I haven’t played for over 10 years )

Not sure which Tremonti model you owned. Did it have a tremolo? If so, it had the wide/thin neck profile with 22 frets. If it was a hardtail, it had the wide/fat neck and 22 frets. The SE 24’s have the wide/thin neck profile and 24 frets. Paul’s guitar I believe has the wide/fat neck profile and I believe 22 frets. Something to consider if neck profile and number of frets play into consideration. Each feel different. All mentioned above have a 25” scale.

I am not a fan of the wide/fat profile, but others love it. Also prefer 22 frets and others prefer 24 frets or move back and forth between the two without issue and neck profiles as well. Might not make a bill of beans difference to you, but thought I would mention it.

Hi SamIV I had the early model tremonti standard that wa made in Korea with the hard tail
