Help me organise a gig

Putting a band together for a xmas charity party (mainly an excuse for me to get on stage with some real musos) Lineup will be drums/bass two guitars, keys, sax and some vocals including backup vocals.

Heres where I need the help. I have a choice of two venues. One is expensive but comes with pa and sound tech as well as some lights and a stage. The other venue is much cheaper, in a nice locattion but is basically a yacht club dining room. Just trying to what you guys would go with? Its xmas season so getting people for sound and lights might be tough as well hiring a PA ( I have one but the mixer wont have enough inputs)

Sounds like you haven't played with this bunch much?
How many need to be mic'd besides the vocalists?
How many people are attending?
If the guitar/bass/drums don't need mic then you may get away with renting a decent PA and going for the yacht club.

Do you have a certain amount of guaranteed attendance? Are you spending your own money on this?

Charity ball. Some of my own money will be invested. Hoping for 50-60 people, could be more, depending....

i mainly want want to get the best sound, just as a technical goal.
