I pulled this device out of a 245SE. Pretty sure it's an onboard preamp just from looking at it, that is definitely what it sounded like when installed. Powered by a 9 volt battery and connects to what looks like a custom jack (when installed it replaces the existing jack)
I can't find a similar build anywhere so I am wondering who made it and what the specs might be? Could be something someone made from scratch, but it seems to me like the board was made for this.
Any ideas?

Maybe one of you could add them to the chain?
