Hi PRS fans,

OK, I know this is a longshot, but here goes:

I recently purchased a 1986 Yellow Custom 24 from the second owner - he said he purchased it from Steve's Music in Toronto (I think in 1987). He said a "well known" Toronto area musician purchased it new and returned it back to Steve's (not sure why, think it was not a good fit). Unfortunately, the person I bought it from does not recall the musicians name and Steve's could not help...
Any ideas???

Thanks in advance,
Fuuf...

Interesting that you want to know the name of the famous musician who rejected the guitar you now own!

Kind of a reverse-provenance thing, isn't it?

Would actually thank him / her - as I would not own this beauty otherwise. Besides, guitars are so personal - we all don't like the same ones. Would love to find out someone like Alex Lifeson or Kim Mitchell or whomever actually played it - how cool would that be!?

It can only be a handful of guys, I would try and contact Kim Mitchell who is a walking, talking encyclopedia of Toronto area musicians and music.

It would be like finding out that some rock star had sex with your wife before you married her, but dumped her?

Good idea - will try to get in touch with him, maybe thru Q107 (if he is still with them). Thanks!

He retired from Q107 a few weeks ago, but he's got quite a social media presence, so you might be able to pique his interest via Twitter or Facebook.

Thanks, noticed that yesterday so did try twitter - will be tough to get noticed as twitter is so busy. Disappointed that Steve's Music didn't help - honestly, how many PRS could they have sold in 1987? Couple of phone calls / emails and done! Oh well, guess there was no sale involved, so F it...

To what purpose? The novelty of being able to say that "Blank from Blank owned my guitar before I bought it"?

Yes, you figured it out - good job Sport...
I know that is not nearly as cool as a rock star having slept with one's wife, but I guess I will have to settle...
To those cool fellow humans who actually tried to help, thank you.

You're livin' the vicarious dream!

Fuuf, my apologies for the very bad jokes.

I messed up your thread. There was just something about the idea that seemed odd and I felt like trying to be clever. Mea culpa!

I always pretend that Neil Schon gave me a guitar. And wish I was getting interviewed by GP and and say, this ones was given to me by my good buddy Neil.
Hey plays for journey, I like it alright.

Dude try it!
