Decided to sell my Fender Telecaster American since I don't play it much and get another PRS. Which do you all prefer? Need help deciding. Price wise, there is a huge difference between the three, but if price wasn't an option, would you still go with the more expensive ones? Why?

2020 Custom 24 Black/Grey 10 Top with the 85/15 TCI pickups.

if it's not a matter of pickups i'd go with the anniversary.
- i like the fretboard outline inlay
- the gold hardware (saddles) will tarnish and fade
- you save a good amount of bucks

EDIT: the anniversary should have the same 85/15 pickups as the other two

Voted for #1

But I prefer #2. Hell yes! For the top alone. Now, of course, I’d play them all and make the final decision, but If they all played exactly the same, the second one is the most beautiful one.

But, for you, since you don’t already have one that looks nearly identical to the first one, like me, and it has the TCI treatment - I’m very curious about this - #1 is the logical choice.

Yea, all have the same 85/15 pickups except for the 2020 which has the TCIs.

So the only one I can actually play is the gloss black one. But they should all have the same specs regardless, just difference nuances.

Voted 1 for the looks only! I'm that shallow and all that, but I am sure the cheapest 35th anni would be a hell of a player as well... All 3 would sound great!!

Sure you can.
Press the ‘tools’ box. It will give you an edit option. Move the cursor to the price. I would make 1 +$200, 2 base, 3 half price

It let's me change the body of the post and add more options to the poll, but not edit or delete the poll titles. I'll keep trying to see if I can fix it.

That’s a tough one. In a perfect world I’d prefer the top of the 2019 with the natural back of the 2020. Picking between them I’d probably do the 2020 because I’d prefer the natural back over the slightly nicer top of the 2019.

You should remove those prices, it’s against forum rules.

Sitting here scratching my head.....if he's not selling anything, no listing of where he's purchasing and anyone can look
up prices for the new guitars online, why is the "issue" an "issue"??
I'm probably "guilty" of posting what I paid for a prs guitar (I have 3 se and 1 core) that I bought used.
Just wondering if I should be looking over my shoulder for the price police??

Yea I dont see the issue. One is in a store no one else will be able to find, so it's not like I'm promoting anything. Only reason I listed price was because one is a killer deal, and one has a pretty sweet/unique top. I'm just not sure if the extra 1K is worth the cost? The black gloss one also has some wear, but it's mostly on the backs where you cant notice it.

I've bought all my prs guitars very lightly used but the 2020 with the light back
would be my choice by far.
only thing better would be if it had 58/15s.

I voted #3 based on price.

But if price wasn’t a deciding factor as you say, I’d choose none and keep looking. I’m not a fan of the placement of the blade switch on these from a playability standpoint (the trem bar is in the way).

Plus, if I had MSRP money for a new one I don’t think I’d be able to resist some of the either “vintage” CU24’s out there, or a used version of a fancy-pants CU24 ie: rosewood neck, Wood Library, or Artist Package etc.

I like no.3 because it looks like a no-nonsense workhorse, that you wouldn’t be afraid to walk out of the house and gig the heck out of.

The other two have pretty tops and are so bonnie and shiny, it would be like running that brand new car off the forecourt. The first stone chip hurts like heck!!

Best of luck with your decision.

If I didn’t say this already, welcome.:D
