Hate it when I miss a deal

So I've been wanting to get either a cab or combo for use at home and and found a great deal on the local craigslist. Last weekend I just couldn't get over there. Thursday the guy reduces the already great price(around $300-400 below what you usually see them go for). So I check the finances and decide I can make it work and plan to get over there Friday. Friday morning....POOF...ad is gone. :bawling: Hate it when that happens. Guess it wasn't meant to be, but damn my luck.

For every good or great deal I've gotten...and there have been many...there are one or two that I have lost a few hours' sleep over. I'd like to think I am too old to waste time wondering what could have been, but sometimes, I'm not :)

Hold on to that dough and, with patience, there will always be another deal. Plus, if you earmark the funds for that purpose, next time you will not have to spend time pondering if you should pull the trigger or not.

Well, it was all of 5 minutes checking the funds. It was mostly a matter of being able to find time to get to that side of town. I clearly should've made time. Not the end of the world, just sucks to miss on a killer deal on a sweet amp I really wanted. I kinda paused because I hadn't played guitar at home a ton the past few years besides on my iPhone/pad. Mostly due to lack of space. I recently bought a house, so I actually have a spare room for it. I'm still getting everything together with the house so I've been super busy but eventually when the dust settles a bit, I look forward to having a music room to kick back in.

I've had that happen before, its so frustrating. Chances are you'll snag a better deal soon now that you're looking and smell blood in the water. Wear jeans with deep pockets and keep that cash on you like its gone already - you'll be ready next time.

What kind of amp was it?

Congrats on the new house!

It may even get funny. I found a used goldtop CU22 Soapbar at Dave's a few years ago. Thought about it for a couple days, sent an e-mail. Somebody bought it the day before.

Couple weeks later, I see another one. I sent another e-mail that day (it was in the afternoon) asking if it was the same guitar. It was - the first guy didn't bond with it. But it had sold that morning.

You can see what's coming - a week or so later, it popped up again. This time I sent a much shorter e-mail - "How much did I miss it by this time". About three hours was the reply.

Now I just treat goldtop CU22 soapies as figments of my imagination - easier to handle that way!
