Has anyone tried the spalted maple PRS SE ?

Saw these and I thought they look great, just wasn't sure on the sound compared to regular maple cap. Any experience greatly appreciated.

Agreed, especially since its a standard maple cap with a spalted veneer.

I mean, thats not a bad thing. The guitar has a full thickness mahogany body, with a full thickness maple top with a veneer on top of that. Tonally its killer and visually its spalt. Any import guitar you find with a spalt top is going to be a veneer.

I don't think a maple cap on a mahogany body changes the tone all that much anyways, especially considering tone pots have such a huge variation, that and your perception of how they guitar should sound likely impacts the tone more than an actual cap/no cap would!
