Has anyone liked a model so much they bought a bunch of em??

I have two satin Vela solidbodies in different colors (black and burst) with different pickups. It’s inevitable that I will eventually find a deal I can’t pass up on a white one. As long as they all have different pickups I can justify it.

Eeeeh even if they have the same pickups justify it. Guitars are fun!

I have three Silver Sky's. a 2019 rosewood board, a maple board, and then a newer 2023 rosewood board one bc of the larger frets/pickup voicing difference.

I have a couple of Silver Skies, but I put a 57/08 in the bridge of one...

and I have a couple of Velas, but one's a semi-hollow...

I have a couple of McCartys too, but one's a traditional model from 2007, and the other's a 594 HB II from 2021, so they're the "same model" in name only...

I don't tend to gravitate toward redundancy; even my gigging backups can be quite different guitars, though I will ensure they have the same scale as a rule...

PRS guitars are expensive, so getting a 2nd guitar that is the same as one you own is not a smart investment for me unless I have a gig and need a backup another guitar on stage. If I have a Custom 24 I would rather purchase a McCarty 594 or Custom 24 08 instead of another Custom 24. More flavors make more sense.

Now if I didn't care about other models and loved a model guitar so much that I wanted a 2nd one in a different color or maple VS rosewood neck; I can see that as well.

That pretty much sums it up. For me it's the NF3. The reason I have 4 of them is because I don't have 5 or 6. ;)

Niceee!! I'm diggin my SE NF3 as the strat style I never knew I needed lol...what kind of music are you rockin with those beauties??

No, just some overlap. The only 80% overlap I have is a CU22 HT with a McC. However the CU sounds decidedly different. Cleaner, lighter, less vintage. Might just be the additional hog on the body and neck of the McC. The CU is WT.

All my other guitars are less of an overlap. A McSoapy Korina and regular McC are the same size and neck, but feel and resonate differently. Actually they overlap less than the McC and the CU22!!

I do only have a 513 twice, but different specs. Rosewood vs mahogany neck, compensated 513 nut vs PRS standard nut, 513 neck profile vs Pat. Reg., PCB vs point-to-point soldered circuit. Flamed vs Quilted, Orange vs. Black Gold, gold vs chrome hardware...

The 513 RW is original (apart from some optical replacements of wooden tips for the switches and the vibrato arm), the 513 MT has been electrically modified as a present of Paul himself to me (additionally it received some optical updates, too).

Former forum member Dancing Frog has a lot of 513s and 305s.

My other guitars are individual, some very, because they are literally unique (luthier made custom builts), or they have been modified.

Unmodified are my Reverend Gristlemaster and the Parker Fly Deluxe.
