Hey, can anyone confirm whether the hardtails with mixed hardware, ie gold studs and polished alloy bridge have polished brass mounting studs, or are they actually gold plated?

Im doing an overhaul on a 2009 Korina Mira I just received and am going with mixed hardware. If the studs are just polished brass, Ill just strip the nickel off mine and polish them. Saves buying new ones.
Also, what year was the first Mira introduced? Did a search but couldn't find the answer.

Cheers in advance!!!!

I think the Mira started at the 1st or 2nd Experience...they had a black one out to try out in a tent near the rear (actually front) entrance.

I've seen them both ways. The Mira X has an unplated aluminium stoptail and unplated brass posts, for example. The more expensive models will have gold-plated studs. I guess it depends how shiny you want the bridge assembly to look. The original Modern Eagle has an anodised aluminium stoptail, which is simply coloured gold, and unplated brass posts for a less glossy look. Something to bear in mind is that if, like me, you rest your hand on the bridge, any gold plating will eventually wear off the post on the bass side so the unfinished brass posts are not only cheaper; the "finish" is going to be harder wearing.

Thanks. I went ahead and stripped the nickel from the posts and polished the brass. It looks great and should be easier to keep that way than gold plate.
Cheers.

What did you use to strip the nickel? I've been meaning to do that to a spare set I have.
