Hans' Standard Mods: Stoptail & Trem Bridges

I hate saddle screws that stick up past the saddle since I rest my hand right where they stick up. Not a problem with my PRSi since they are stoptail and I've never noticed the sharp edge on the PRS bridge. I do notice this slightly with the saddle on the 594 but it hasn't been pronounced enough to do anything about it. Now, my Fenders pretty much all get the saddles replaced because of those dang screws.

I recently bought a cheapo Squier Strat and did some upgrades to it. Mojotone lipstick tube loaded pickguard, locking tuners, and new saddles. These new saddles don't have the screws sticking up. One day I may even get dangerous and do something stupid to the finish of the guitar.

Hmmmm... not sure. I’ve never had a piezo-equiped trem. Good question for @Shawn@PRS

Well, TBH, the piezo is a stop tail. Was wondering how to mod a piezo which cannot be removed from the bridge area...Could do a mod on my S2 stop tail, just don't know about the piezo...?

Ah. Ok. Unless its different than my 2004 HB Piezo, there is a disconnect under the saddle. Super easy. I'd sill ask Shawn to be certain.

Thanks, Hans. This will be a separate project if the saddle disconnect is there. Will frame the question in the PTC section.

Came here to help with this same sharp edge issue and the photos are not coming up. Even signed up thinking they might show then. Anyone know of more recent threads addressing the edge on the stop tail?
