Half power switch? Effects loop controlling volume?

Specifically, I'm most interested in the 2 Channel H & Custom 50.... but, other PRS amps might or might not help this thread.

Why didn't the amp crew design these new amps with half power options?

Will the volume controls on the effects loop actually lower the output to the point of simulating a half power mode?

Does the effects loop help the volume for bedroom playing?

Halving the power decreases the maximum volume of an amp by only three decibels. A change of one db is the lowest volume change that the human ear can perceive, according to acoustics theory, though I'd argue that a good listener can perceive smaller changes anyway.

A 50 watt amp isn't designed for the bedroom, nor is a 25 watt amp, really.

But the PRS amps have a fantastic master volume control, and they sound very, very good at low volumes. In my opinion, their master volume controls are far more effective and useful than the half power switches on my Two Rocks or Mesa Mk V were.
