Hi, y'all, I sold my beloved Singlecut Hollowbody II and it seems one of the pickup's electrical connection rattled loose in transit (no signal). Rather than ship it all the way back to me or PRS (East coast), is there a trustworthy tech in their area (Capitola/Santa Cruz/North side of Monterey Bay) they can take it to? I'm seeing a lot of Guitar Centers, and I know there are good ones, but not knowing which are which, I thought I'd ask the community. Please halp.

Vision Guitars?

To all the O.G. guys who remember me -- hi!

I can recommend a couple in the East Bay, but not down there. Guitar Centers can have good techs, but in my experience the techs come and go and you kind of get what you get.

Danville Music is a little over an hour from Santa Cruz. They have a great guy that I think picks up from there. He’s worked with them for 20+ years. He happens to be very local to me, but another hour and a half from Santa Cruz. Probably best to work through Danville Music, plus they are super nice people.

I love Danville Music, but haven't gotten repairs there.

Here are the two I'm familiar with:
Mike Drasin, East Bay Guitar Repair
Wood Street Guitar repair

When I worked at Guitar Showcase in Santa Cruz, we had an on-site guy named Rick McKee. He was the only one I trusted with my guitars.

It's been like 20 years since I've seen him tho, not sure if he's still in the biz. Maybe if you ask around about him at like Starving or Union Grove (are those places still there?)

Is the Santa Cruz Guitar Company still over there on the west side? I suppose you could try ringing them up and seeing if they have a recommendation.
