I just picked up another Warwick RockStand 5, this time for the PRSi, I use most - I had to get the cases off the floor so I can move around my cramped little corner a bit more easily.

One of the guitars going into this rack is my nitro-finished DGT. Do I stand to run into problems w/the foam (it's like Billy Dee Williams - the smooth black kind)? I'm probably going to cover at least the slot where the DGT is with something like a towel (because I always know where my towel is!), but that may not happen for a couple weeks, so I'll pull the guitar if I have to.

Thoughts?

I have that same stand, although mine is many years old. I don't have a nitro finished PRS, but I do have a Tele finished in old school nitro (from MJT). I've been putting it on that stand for about three years now with no ill effects.

When in doubt, wrap it lol.......

Hercules are nitro friendly but I'm not sure about the Warwick stands. I've always wrapped any stand with a cotton t shirt. A face cloth could cause scratches .

When I put my nitro-finished Tonare on a stand, I wrap the parts that touch the guitar in clean, thick microfiber cloths. Microfiber is fine for the nitro, and provided it's clean, will not scratch the guitar. These are thick, and I've used them for years to clean the guitars with zero swirl marks; I also use them with stands:

Not the prettiest color microfiber, but they are very high quality.

I have a couple of those stands (the 7 guitar version) and I had my Nitro necked Strats on it for several years, w/o a problem. But if your concerned, do what Les suggested, drape a micro fibre clothe over the part where the guitar touches. Extra insurance…

I threw a towel on it for now - the microfiber cloth hadn't occurred to me, but that's a great idea.
