This probably doesn't make sense, but how can a guitar be prone to pot issues.
I have an SC250 that is one of my favorite guitars but I've lost count of how many times I've had to replace volume pots. I never have to touch my other guitars. I think my one LP I've replaced once and my Stripped 58, I've replaced the bridge volume pot.
In this SC250, I the last few years alone I've replace the bridge volume to a split pot but rjat had issues and cut out when rolling down, replaced it back to a standard audio taper pot with no split. That was acting funky so it got replaced and now this guitar is starting to cut out at times. It's almost like that symptoms when a cord isn't all the way in and makes a partial connection. Sort of like that volume drop and a weak signal but then will completely cut out and then come back. I've had that they the years with bad cables, poorly connected cables, loose parts, etc. I haven't been using this guitar as much lately due to the aggravation of the cut out and performance issues.
