Guitar appraisal

Do you get your guitars or other music gear appraised for insurance purposes? If so other than Gruhn’s Guitars are there other shops that you’re pleased with there appraisal service. Nothing against Gruhns just would like options. Note: No I’m not going to send you all my PRS for a forum brother’s appraisal (guitars disappear for years) but thanks lol.

My insurance covers what I have at replacement value minus my deductible. If it were a vintage instrument with subjective value, I would have to get additional coverage. Or if I wanted accidental breakage covered, I would have to pay extra. Loss to theft or fire is covered.

Just do what everyone else is and mark it 25% above new price, 60% if it’s older than 25 yrs

I jest, I don’t appraise for insurance but invoices come in handy for such things for a cost price otherwise a CMV should be applied to the insurance.

I've had guitars appraised for insurance coverage. There is a local shop that does it. Their appraisals seem to be fair.

I keep the paper work on all mine , insurance will cover thankfully .
