Grounding issue or hum normal on 57/08

Hey guys, so I bought a second hand 57/08, and the previous owner took a lot of the length of the wires out. I wired it up in my S2, and was wondering about 1 thing. The previous pickup had a ground going the tone pot, but unfortunately, this one couldn't reach, so I simply grounded it to the volume pot instead (the volume pots are grounded together, and that pot has a ground to the bridge.

Was this the best way to wire it back up? I'll be getting a 57/08 Neck in about two weeks, so I'll be in there soldering again.

Any expert advice on the grounding would be awesome.

You're welcome. As long as all the grounds are connected, which it sounds like they are, you're good.

Yep all other grounds were untouched, so I imagined when wiring that going to that volume pot was about the only option I had.
