Great Voices From Your Home Town

Born and raised in Seattle.
A lot of great voices and bands....blessed to have seen some really great shows at some great venues; The Paramount, The Moore Theatre, Under The Rail, The OK hotel, The Offramp, The Vogue, Ballard Firehouse.

First in my list because it is hard to argue who is undoubtedly one of the best voices and ranges in rock.
Chris Cornell

Or a great female rock voice with a phenomenal range.
Ann Wilson

Geoff Tate

Layne Staley

Maybe not popular because of his voice, but I heard he had pretty good guitar skills and I think there is maybe an amp or 2 named after him
Jimi Hendrix

Seattle had Bing Crosby too, but not what I'd consider a rock voice.

There are many other popular bands/vocalists but not what I'd consider "Great Voices" as the title asked. Don't get me wrong, they sing great, just not top of the list...Pearl Jam, Candlebox, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Mudhoney. I know I'm probably missing some.

From my current hometown - I moved around a little bit as a reason of my job - are those two lads, who let guitars sing.

Literally singers?
John Kay (Steppenwolf) lived in our county's capital.

Multi times Grammy winner Thomas Quasthoff, baritone voice, was born and raised in the county's capital. He was at the same grammar school/gymnasium (Gymnasium Andreanum, first record of the school was back in 1225) as myself. My brother in law did a bank clerk apprenticeship with him. I had the privilege to join a small charity concert of him, he was accompanied on piano by Ragna Schirmer. She did aswell her exams at the same school. Her brother Rouven (cellist) was in the parallel class of myself.

Composers: Classical composer of the baroque epoche Georg Philipp Telemann was pupil of our school in the late 17th century. The school forged his musical foundation. He moved prior exams.
