What's your opinion on the Grainger bass headstock? I'm talking the Fender style maple headstock on every bass. I think it looks great on the maple fretboard, but the rosewood board and maple headstock just doesn't do much for me. I realize it's very common and maybe traditional looking for basses, but this bass is modern in style and features. I think it would look a lot nicer with a rosewood or ebony overlay, to match the board. I don't dislike it as much on the light, more natural stained basses.

I was a very vocal opponent of the ebony overlay on maple necks when PRS first introduced the artist options, but for some reason a maple headstock with rosewood overlay doesnt tweak me that same way. I have a rosewood board Grainger and never gave it a second thought but I do understand how an asthetic that doesnt agree with you cant taint an instrument for you.
