My 2009 DGT Goldtop is my #1 guitar, the neck is just perfect for me and all the tone options are killer.
I owned a BLE Limited Edition McCarty when they first came out and I love the tone of that guitar, like a vintage Les Paul to my ears but the W/F neck gave me hand cramps.
As soon as I read abut the DGT coming out I knew I'd have to have one, a McCarty with a trem and a slimmer neck
so I eventually did and I've owned this beauty about 5 1/2 years now
I also own a Tyler Burning Water SE, Gibson CS336, Fender Custom Shop HBS-1 relic and a Suhr Classic T (HSS with trem) BUT I always go back to the DGT. The Tyler is up for sale as the neck is a bit big for gigging, the Fender CS is gonna get moved as I like the Suhr better and the CS336 sounds more Les Paul than 335.
So what to get ? well I love my DGT that much it has to be another :-/ would love a nice flame top but seems a bit pointless if it's going to be similar sounding so i reckon a Standard is on the cards, just for a bit of variation.
Just got to decide on a colour now and try for one with birds
