After 24 years of faithful service my lowly POD has kicked the bucket. It served me well in recording with some passable amp models, but it really excelled as a headphone amp for daily practice & songwriting

So now I'm looking to replace it, mainly as a headphone practice amp, that I can record with.
What's out there that's comparable? Possibly better, in the similar price range?

It’s a sad day when you lose a piece of trusted gear. Here are the guitar tabs for “taps”. May it rest in peace.

All on e string …

0-0-5v—l—0-5-9v—l —0-5-9-0-5-9-0-5-9–l—5-9-12–l—12p9/5-0–l—0-0-5vvv
……………………… (——2x speed ——)
v = vibrato
/ = slide
p = pause

Sorry For Your Loss...It Is A Bummer When That Happens. I Still Have Some Of My Really Old Pieces And Love Them Even Though I Rarely Use Them. I Keep Them For The Memories I Guess. I Still Have My Rack Pod And My Boss ME-5. Here Are A Couple Of Products That Might Work Really Well For You. :)

HX Stomp
The New Small Kemper Unit, I Forget Its Name :(

TONEX app, TONEX Pedal or TONEX ONE pedal. The included captures are great and Amalgam Audio’s captures are phenomenal.

Thx for the suggestions fam, if U have more let me know.

FWIW I was never really happy with Line6 sounds or their wonky method of interface, so I'm looking at any options.

I'm at the point where I have more questions than answers, might have to hit the shops for first hand testing.

Not in the same price range, but Fractal Audio Systems just released the VP4 which is an effects only processor (no amps or IR's at this point) with a price of $699. The FM3 (also well out of price range at $1099) but it would probably be the last pedal/amp simulator you would ever need! Condolences on the Line 6 Pod ;~))

I've been following these closely since release. They just added effects! Can't wait to get some feedback once people have tried it, as this is a whole new game for them now.

Try to score a used AtomicAmplifire 3 or 6. I own the 3 and the 12 and use them both for daily practice and live gigs. All Marshall style models in there are phenomenal. Best bang for the buck imho. Leon Todd has some nice tutorial videos on YouTube.

I can attest to the AA12 being the real deal. I had one for a time and really liked it.

I have a 3 and a 12 also.

The only thing that is underwhelming with the Amplifires are the factory IRs of the cabinets. But fortunately you can load 3rd party IRs which cures this weak spot.
