I just picked up some JBL Control 30 speakers for cheap....typically they're used in 70V systems but you can bypass the transformer and they're rated at as 4 ohm system and can take 250 watts RMS of continuous IEC pink noise....500 continuous program material. IOW...I guess a decent amount.
I hooked up a dinosaur Alesis RA-100 which is rated 100 watts at 4 ohms...but felt it was probably much underpowered for the speakers.
I must say...the Helix sounded great...probably the best thru "PA" speakers I've ever heard recently...and at a good "band volume".
Without breaking the bank...what's a good power amp? Something like a Crown XLS 1002? Open box or used go for $250.
This is for a duo (also keys thru JBL Pro 1 stereo PA system) and for smaller, but outside gigs.
We have a QSC 16 mixer going into the Pro 1 PA for mics and FX. Also for IEM when needed and the guitar also if needed.
