I kinda like them. When I did my PS, I asked about maple bobbins for the pups. Never thought about covers because I wanted uncovered pickups, but I have no clue how wooden covers would affect the tone.

If I were you I wouldn't buy one, then. Because changing the wood knobs out for plastic knobs would probably make the guitar explode.
