Gold Pickups

Just received my first ever PRS, a McCarty 594 Hollowbody II Wood Library. Totally in love with it, but immediately thinking that it's jade green and black finish would be better complemented with gold hardware (currently chrome or nickel, not sure which). Found everything at PRS store EXCEPT gold pickups or gold pickup covers. Anybody know what I would need to do to get gold pickups for this model (58/15 LTs)? I am extremely happy with the sound of these stock pickups.

You’d have to get some gold covers and replace them which isn’t too difficult with the right soldering iron. I’ve had good luck with these ones.

I changed the poles pieces in one of mine from silver to gold to make it work. Don't forget adding covers will change the tone slightly - most say a little darker...

HBII will probably come with covered pickups to begin with. Also, you can’t add covers to PRS uncovered since they have squabbins.

I guess one other way would be to go private stock...

The Philadelphia luthier pickup covers are made from the same metal alloy the old guys used. I really like them on my old CE24. But then, I’m old also.
