Gold, ebony, or snakewood? Tuner buttons!

A friend on another forum had a fantastic offer of ebony and snakewood phase III buttons.
They arrived on Monday, but I didn't get a chance to pick them up from my US post box until Wednesday, and then life happened.
So... this morning I got a chance to try them out!
What do you think looks best?

Gold originals?


Ebony?



Or Snakewood?

I love snakewood.......All the more so if the whole fretboard is snakewood. But I would use ebony with that headstock and tuners.

They all look good. Based on these pictures, I would pick the snakewood.

Only because I’ve swapped tuner buttons that didn’t work with the overall look before.

Based on the headstock only, i vote Ebony. They match the locking screws, the nut, and the truss rod cover, and provide a little breakup without drawing too much attention. They also look sharp with the gold hardware of the tuners.

Based on headstock pic alone, I was with @bodia . But whole guitar they may feel too heavy and pull the eye. I'd stick with gold tbh.

That ebony though... like bodia said, they go with the black on the tuners...

I guess it reminds me of bathroom fixtures from the 80’s...

I'd say ebony buttons but change pickup rings to black.

With those pickup rings ivory buttons would look good BUT nice freakin guitar either way.
