I am sick and tired of tripping over guitar cables. Have any of you gone wireless and eliminated guitar cables? If yes, what device did you choose & why did you choose it? Any installation issues? Has it worked out? Is it 100% reliable at gigs?

Looking for any kind of feedback you wish to give.

I occasionally use a Line6 G50. I don't notice any signal degradation and it's nice to be able to not trip over cords. Never had an issue with battery life...played a three-hour gig with no problems.

Choose it because it seemed to get good reviews and wasn't insanely priced. Because it's small, it is easy to bring along and hook up to the front end of my pedalboard.

G50 user here. Been using one for years, takes abuse well haven't lost signal yet live.

Also a G50 user in my home.
I liked the first one so much I bought a second one for my bass pedal board.
Very high quality, and most of the online reviews convinced me to try it.

I use a cable with my two small battery amps, but the bass amp and my Mark Five 25 I use the wireless since the pedal boards go through them.

I have the line 6 G70 and absolutely think it's amazing. I had the G 50 but have it to my daughter. The G 50 is really good too.

I also use an ATW-R250 from Audio Technica at work, but it is far from the Line 6 quality.
But it is great for being untethered to my amp at work, and I can crank up the amp all the way and go into the next room and not lose my hearing.

Go for one of the Line 6 units, I love the function and sound of the G30, which is the cheapest, but the casing on the transmitter sucks. I think the higher up models have better construction.

I've been thinking of trying out one of the new Line 6 G70 or 75 models in my studio, just to have fewer cords to trip over. My son is going to be touring with one, and says it sounds great, so there's a review from someone whose ears I respect, and that's a big plus!

For a long time I used an Audio Technica model (pre-digital days) that sounded quite good, back when I had a studio with a separate recording room, but these new Line 6 models appear to be very impressive in their multiplicity of functions.

I bought a Line 6 G30 unit two years ago and still love it. It is made of plastic instead of metal on the G50 but I've had zero problems with it. The reason I chose the G30 over the G50 is because the G50 requires that DIN style multi-pin plug on one end and I dislike that sort of proprietary thing.
The G30 uses 1/4" both ends so I got a nice angled (both ends) short cable for it. Some people have had the clip for the TX snap off but I have it on the guitar strap with no trouble. Others have busted the battery door off but again I've had no trouble in all this time.
I like it enough to buy a second one so that my P22 can be wireless for both outputs. Happy Birthday to me!
For those of you sick of throwing AA batteries in the landfill try Sanyo High capacity Eneloop rechargeables. They are 2450mah and they last a good long while, maybe 8 hrs per charge. The batteries aren't cheap but nothing worth owning is. Get a decent charger and you're good to go.
I use this for every practice and every gig. Flawless so far.

Here is a tip for those using the Line 6 units that require the DIN plug like D mentioned above.
Shure WA304 2-Feet Instrument Cable, 4-Pin Mini Connector (TA4F) with Right-Angle 1/4-Inch Connector

I read in the reviews at Amazon to junk the stock one and buy the Shure one as is a better cable.
I am running the above cable on both of my G50s, and it is better than the stock one.
You can get it with a straight plug too if needed.

10 years ago I bought myself a wireless system:

But saving batteries and reducing electricity consumption due to a additional electronic device I switched back to cables between guitar, effects and amp.

Same here, but I kept the stock ones for my two receivers as backups.

I know it was mentioned earlier that the G30 was preferred by an individual because of the 1/4" to 1/4" cable. I'm just the opposite, I'd rather have the G50 for the locking TA4F connector and better metal build quality of the pack. YMMV

I've used the same Line 6 G30 system for a couple dozen shows on both guitar and bass and have had no issues at all. I also use it during rehearsal because we rehearse in a warehouse and it gives me the freedom to move around to hear everything better. No issues at all while using the G30.

Yeah, the locking mech is a great feature.

I have a midi controller that a can't get too far away from so I'm a cable guy. I have intex cables now so there is no turning back.

I would also say that I have made significant improvements in my tone in the last year so I'm quite happy. For now.
