I Have Had Mixed Results On My Wife Being With Me And If I Am Honest, She Was Right Each Time That I Am Thinking Of.
Story 1. I Can Remember Walking In With One In Mind And Fell In Love With Two And They Were Both Amazing. I Was Having. Hard Time Making A Decision And She Helped Me By Asking Me Some Very Pointed Questions And By Reading My Response And Expressions, Etc. I Truly Couldn't Make A Decision As Both Were Exceptional. She Doesn't Play Guitar Much But Knows How To Pick Out A Great Guitar By How It Sounds And Resonates Unplugged. She Grabbed The One I Wasn't Planning On Finsing When We Walked Into The Store And Did Her Thing On It. She Then Handed Me That Guitar And Did The Same On The One I Was Hot And Bothered About. She Smiled And Said Those Are Both Amazing Guitars...I Like Both. I Agreed And Said I Know, I Wasn't Expecting This. She Smiled And Said Me Neither. She Handed Me Back The Guitar We Originally Were Interested In And Said You Should Get This One. I Was Curious As To Why She Thought That And So I Said What Makes You Say That? Did You Hear Something Or Feel Something In How It Responded Over The Other One? She Smiled And Said Again That They Were Both Great And I Should Jump On The One That Is Still Available. She Then Stood Up, Grabbed Her Purse, Smiled And Winked At Me And Said She Was Buying That One For Her But I Could Use It At Any Time So I Better Not Lose Out On The One I Came To See As Well. I Love That Woman
Story 2. We Walk Into A Store A Find A Guitar I Was Interested In. It Was A Really Nice One But It Just Wasn't Stealing My heart Like I Want A Lifer Guitar To Do. It Was Stunning...I Wanted To Love It...It Was A Very Good Guitar But Not A Great Guitar. The Price Definitely Matched The Looks But Somehow It Was Lacking In The Sound And Feel Department For Me. She Could See It. She Picked It Up And Did Her Thing And Look At Me And Said Honey, I Really Think You Could Do Better. It Is A Lot Of Money To Spend To Not Be Over The Moon About It And If I Know You, You Will Play It For A Bit And Not Be In Love With It And It Will Sit Because You Feel Bad And Don't Want To Get Rid Of It. I Knew Deep Down She Was Right. She Wisely Said Wait And Think On It. I Was Coming To Terms With The Reality Of Everything And She Said I Don't Care About The Money, I Want You To Be Happy And I Know That Long Term you Won't Be With This Guitar. If You Just Wait I Know In My Heart You Will Find Something You Wanted This To Be And More. I Agreed And A Couple Of Days Later We Are On A Business Trip And Out Of The Blue Hit Up A Nice Music Store And Low And Behold I Found An Amazing Guitar For About 40% Or So Less Money. It Wasn't A PRS, It Was A Nik Huber Orca That Was Glorious Playing/Sounding/Looking. I Love That Woman
She Is Always Right!
Hopefully Your Wife Is As Helpful In Your Shopping Experience As Mine Has Been In Mine. I Hope You Find An Amazing Guitar!
