Going to see Rush tomorrow

I tried to get some good seats the morning they went on sale. Slow finger or what ever the best seats available where a good ways from the stage. So I said maybe next time. Fast forward to last night. My wife mentioned that the show was Sunday so I hit the ticket master website and boom! 2 seats in the orchestra section 9th row. I'm so stoked! Can't wait.:biggrin:

I watched a Rush video on Netflix recently. I believe it was a special about one of their albums. Either way it was really interesting to watch. Have fun. I'm sure the show will dominate.

Just saw them in FL, my second time. I don't think any band puts on a better show. I bought Black Sabbath tix today, but I almost felt silly, because they put on half the show of Rush for the same price. The new Rush material was especially strong.

Get there early if you want swag, but note every single tour item seems available on their website. I still waited on line, tho.

Enjoy! I saw them earlier on this tour in September and it was a great show. I'm probably going to see them on Tuesday in Baltimore. I wasn't planning on going, but like you I lucked into some good seats at the last minute. I don't think Alex has any PRS with him on this tour. When I saw them on the previous tour, he had just received an NF3 and he played it for one song.

I'm curious to hear what the OP thought as well. I saw them Tues in Baltimore and the show was great. They swapped a few songs in/out from the show I saw in September. I've seen them almost 10 times and I'm still impressed every time I see them. The sound/mix was excellent and the light show was fantastic. They still kick a$$.

Alex played Les Pauls for the most part. He played his 355 for a couple of songs. The only non-Gibson was a Fender Tele for one song. Alas, no PRS.

I don't think I've ever seen Rush. If I have I don't remember it right now (I'm having a old goat memory moment). But I'd like to catch them someday.

Maybe we can get a gig review here soon.

If you don't remember, you haven't see them.

Current tour is 28 songs, 3+ hours, brief intermission. Pretty much the only missing visual trick was lasers. There was fire, explosions, a movie with Jay Baruchel, moving video monitors, a giant popcorn maker with a brain, fiber optic effects, two drum solos, and a string septet for half the show. Epic. And they're not kids anymore, making it that much more impressive.

And Alex played a sick Goldtop.

Man, I could reeeeeally ramble here...Seen Rush over 40 times and still the absolute best bang for the buck anywhere! Loved the show, Strings were great on the CA stuff, and even better on YYZ...way cool...to all...catch them if you can!!

Saw them here in Tampa-Clockwork Angels tour
They brought a little orchestra with them and did practically the whole new album
Still the best for me - after seeing them over a half-dozen times over the years, they still got it

Hint: - go to the stands halfway through the drum solo. I bought the book and a TeeShirt

The Clockwork Angels album didn't hook me. I just found it a bit over-complex (I'm a Moving Pictures/Power Windows/Signals guy more than a 2112 guy). But live? I felt the first half of Act 2--where they did seven or eight of the CA songs--was the strongest part of the show, and that's saying something. In addition to the strings, the lighting, film and optical effects they introduce for those songs was an absolutely memorable concert experience. And I think the CA material is better adapted to the current tone and pitch of Geddy's voice. Here's hoping for a concert DVD...
