As you do not seem to be looking for "forever" guitars, I would go for the R9. You never know until you try. You already had the other guitars and moved them on. Even if your reasons changed, it sounds like you have not had a chance to get your hands on an R9 (neither have I for the record). That would suggest you may get more value out of the new experience with an R9 and at least you will have a better data point for future considerations.
That R9 is beautiful and well worth the trouble of taking it for a spin. Good luck on a tough choice!
