I've made some serious changes to my setup/tone.

For starters my peavey 5150 that I bought new in 1994 is gone...........finally sent it on down the road.

Right now my amps are Roland JC77, Marshall class 5 combo, Mesa Stiletto head and Marshall JCM800 studio head.

The cheap cabs I had been gigging with are gone too.

I now have three marshall 4x12 cabs G12T-75s, UK Greenbacks and UK G12L-35s plus a 2x12 open back with Weber alnico Silver Bells.

I am in LOVE with the jcm800 studio. I've always liked that tone but never settled on because I always looked at the jcm as a one trick pony. This studio is not that at all, while not as versatile as my mesa stiletto I find that altering gain level or switching to low watt setting produces many different tones.

What I'm most excited about is the 5310s I put in my emerald ce24! I ditched the dual push pulls and put rotary back in it and this sucker is glorious through jcm800. I can't get enough of it!!!

I haven't been in A gigging band for probably 4 years now but man do I have the itch now that I'm tone rich!

Going to try and get one more Marshall 4x12 with UK V30s to complete my cab lineup.

The group I've been recording for has continued to send me stuff to work on so this is why I've been doing the tonal facelift.

I'm stoked............

Had my first post Covid open mike sit in. I already got my shot, and so did most of my friends. I was rusty in spite of my practicing. My Johnny Hiland saw it’s first high volume action, and the bass player loved it. Next out will be the DC3. The amp is my trusty Tech 21 Trademark 60. 20 years on that amp, and it still peels paint if you want it to. There’s mention of a podcast, I’m getting pumped to play.....

Local folks are looking forward to open-mics re-opening later this year, likely early to mid-June, once most folks have been vaccinated. Restrictions still prevent us from gathering in groups of more than 50, and restaurants are still not full capacity yet. That's what's on hold. Will wait it out, and embrace the re-openings when they occur.
