Fretboards... please weight in

I’m curious as to what you prefer and what your experiences have been. I own many examples of each except, Ziricote.... so I’m particularly interested in what you think of it.

No maple option but I dig that a lot, so I chose rosewood. I don’t play subtle enough to tell tonal differences between the dark woods.

I love them all, but have a special place for the Madagascar Rosewood on my PS models.

But hell, you can give me Ebony, BRW, or even IRW and I’m also a happy camper.

As I suspected... not much interest in Ziricote. I’ve seen quite a few WL incarnations with Ziricote used as a fretboard. Just wondering why....

It isn’t a lack of interest. Most of us just don’t have any. 11top will come by eventually with the goods.

I just got a thang for African Blackwood.

Did you know they also use it for Nunchakus due to the hardness and strength! You know what to do if robbed while carrying your guitar. Can even play Smoke on the Water while at it.

Voted other for African Blackwood as well. My second favorite is Madagascar rosewood, no experience with Brazilian rosewood yet though.

I just got a paul’s guitar with Ziricote fretboard. I love the way it looks. We’ll see how it wears. I marked Brazilian but used to prefer ebony but it’s been so long since I had ebony... but soon one will be coming.
