Four guitars at work

For the past several weeks I have brought in my
2012 SE Santana
2012 SE Tremonti Custom
2014 SE Zach Myers
and this week I bought in my 2012 SE Custom 24.

One of the truck drivers stops by the PC room here to check his email and do a rundown list of trailers around the area.
He has played every one of them with today being the first time he tried the Custom 24.
So far he likes it the best, but it does not matter what neck size, wide/thin, wide fat like all four models have.
To him they all play better than anything he has tried in the past, and I keep telling him to go pick one up, he will not be sorry.

Today was also the first time I brought in a bigger amp, brought my Blackstar ID 30 combo which has a 12" speaker in it.
He was jamming along to drum kits and also blues/rock music you play lead too, both apps I have on my Android phone.
Cranked the amp up for him really good in the room here, it about blew us away.

Anyway, great way to start the work day each day by doing a little jamming pre-work
For any of you who can take a guitar and small amp to work, I highly recommend it, it is a great way to start your day.
Previous to bringing in the bigger amp I was using the Yamaha THR 10X and the Roland Micro Cube.
Great little amps, but not the punch that the 12" speaker has.

I have kept a guitar in the office since having kids, since they consume just about all my time and energy. I analyzed my day and lunch breaks were the only time I really had free any more.

My co-workers wouldn't appreciate an amp of any size or volume. I use a Pocket Pod with headphones. Not a bad little device, especially for the price, barely bigger than computer mice, it's got a lotta spice and entices me to not think twice about picking up my guitar.

I know others have similar situations, but I work from home. Thankfully all of my gear is in the next room - if it were in the same room I would not get ANYTHING done.

I do usually play quietly or unplugged when I first come downstairs in the AM to do my cardio, and then schedule some quality "lunch time" with the girls.

I have also restrung a guitar or 3 while on a conference call - but only the boring ones.

I have a rule that my BR-800 stays OFF during working hours, because once I start messing around laying down scratch tracks, it's all over, and I don't do anything else until I have something semi-complete that I can listen to.

Having everything so close helps keep me sane...or at least throttle back the onset of the insanity a bit.

Well, I took the 12" combo out to my rig after lunch, going to miss the in your face bump and thump from it.
No way can I turn it up that loud at home.
Maybe I will bring it in again sometime and hit the auditorium with stage we have at work here.
Back to the Yamaha tomorrow morning.
It felt really good being able to crank up an amp for a change.

Guitars at work are a distraction from my usual "music by typewriter" thing, but I like it.

Since I'm a one person office I keep a guitar in the office and play at least 30 minutes during lunch through a mini vox amp and earphones. Breaks up the day for me and relives a little stress too. Wouldn't have it any other way.

How do you like the Mini vox? My wife has one for her bass and it sounds really good. The Pocket Pod does so many things, something more simple would be fine for me.

Unfortunately, I would get fired if I brought my guitar into work, so I will live vicariously through you folks!

It's pretty awesome and has a built in tuner too. Has enough choices for all kinds of music types. Works on aa batteries for about 7 hours which gives you a lot of options on where you can play.

I've been thinking about taking my ibanez is my truck for the long waits. Just trying to see if the boss would put a power outlet in for a marshall 50w combo....hehe

Just finished breakfast here at work, time to get out my SE Custom 24 and jam a bit.
I get into work early enough that I can play before I actually have to start work.
