I've always been a big fan of solid rosewood necks due to the incredible feel. Now I think I've found something else that I like even better, torrified maple. I don't even know what it is but it sure feels good in the hand.

After spending some quality time with one from a WL run, I had to bring it home.

The rest of the guitar is pretty plain as far as Wood Library guitars go but it's a player. It's overcast and raining here so the pictures were taken on my basement workbench. They don't accurately represent the actual color. The official color is Champagne Gold Metallic and has a little more sparkle in it than a traditional Goldtop finish.

Awesome buy! I saw that and wanted it immediately. I might have a neck of that sort headed my way soon. Is this your first 594? I forget.

I've had a couple including a 594 Hollowbody II. This one just felt right as soon as I picked it up. Plugged in it has a stupid amount of sustain. This adds to my list of guitars that weren't necessarily my favorite color but too good to pass up.

My sample size is small but as of right now I'm a big fan of the roasted/torrified maple. Definitely worth checking out.

Maple necks do feel (and sound) good. Your guitar is beautiful! Congratulations and thanks for sharing!

I think that’s a much more elegant version of a gold top. A classic look, but far better looking IMO. If I were getting a gold top, that’s what I’d want it to look like.

Wow, congrats! Always thought a maple neck on a 594 would sound great.

So far I'm impressed with the guitar. It's a little on the bright side which actually works in my favor. I'm a single coil guy for the most part so I can switch to this guitar without really messing with settings. This 594 is a great compliment to my other favorite guitars and is getting a lot of play time. I've kept the factory set up for now but I'll start doing some tweaking to get it closer to my preferences.

The color is growing on me so that's a bonus. I've bought 3 PRS guitars in the last couple of months and this is the only one that feels like a long term keeper. It sounds & feels almost perfect. The other 2 were impulse buys because they were available at the right time & price.
