First is it real? Second, can it be brought back to the U.S.?

Yeah, sounds suspicious to me - you can always buy insurance from any reputable shipper. So in order to offer "free shipping" he is using "Joe's international shipping and lawn mower repair - we also do taxes!".

I`d pay extra to have it shipped, and I`d also buy a hard case from the seller. I had a beautiful Singlecut P90 destroyed in shipping, and was able to recover money to have it fixed because of shipping. See if the final price makes sense, then. I also had a guitar shipped from Japan years ago and payed extra for faster. It arrived in perfect condition.
