Yes, thank you, I did see that. My point was PRS can do a retro of a Santana or a Mira if it makes business sense to do so. I like the idea of a Santana Retro. I also like the idea of a limited Mira run for the forum. They probably said no to anything not in the current offerings. Ok. Not trying to make waves.

    The poll is closed.

The target base model is the Custom 24-08.

I'll start a poll about the wood selection after I talk with the dealer about the options.

disclaimer: this doesn't match my personal wants or needs, but I will still continue to work on this with the dealer and the members who are interested. I'm not going to bail on you just because it isn't a model I personally want to see built.

I am not disappointed or surprised either. The Custom 24 is the most 'iconic' PRS and the 24-08 is the latest iteration with the added ability to split the coils individually. The likelihood that a LOT of people haven't got that model is high whilst they may have a Custom 24, Custom 22 or even the 594. I think the 509 in particular is more 'niche' and, like the 408, doesn't really allow for 'easy' PU changing in the future - not that I ever do as I buy guitars based on what they sound like 'stock' rather than what I 'hope' they could sound like with different PU's after purchase.

I must admit, as a Custom 24 owner, I would 'like' to add a Custom 24-08 to my collection BUT it wasn't 'next'. I would prefer to add a Hollowbody II with Piezo because I also have the 594 and 509 - a semi-hollow 594 would be 2nd, but a proper hollowbody with Piezo was really 'next' because that adds 'more' to my growing collection than a Custom 24-08 will.

I am still not sure if the Forum guitar would be available to Forum members outside of the US with CITES Laws now...

Sure it will be, assuming you are concerned about any rosewood, if the dealer that does the run fills out the export paperwork properly.

if no Rosewood (e.g. ebony FB), then no CITES concerns at all.

Only thing stopping a guitar being shipped out of the US would be use of Brazilian RW.

Oh, and I probably won't be in on this run. But, you never know, if interesting woods are selected with a cool color I may just jump right back in...

Hollowbody II Piezo, in singlecut McCarty 594 style, please. At least the 4 classic controls at the bottom! then add switches around them...

PRS definitely have room for a few more jazz box / archtop guitars !! Especially in the S2 range.. o_O
