PRS artist/endorser Mark Tremonti is going to publish his new album on FRI 10th January 2025 via Napalm Records.
The album consists of 12 tracks and offers a running time of 56:28 min.
Up to now four singles had been decoupled:
"Just too much"
"The Mother, the Earth and I"
"One more Time"
And the title track "The End will show us how"
Today I was allowed to listen to the whole album, what I really appreciated.
My brief impression is as follows:
The songwriting, playing of guitar and bass, his voice and singing is outstanding. What I don't like - and aswell with ALTER BRIDGE with the last albums - is the drum sound. Mr. Loudness is supposed to be the sound engineer. The drums sound hollow in combination with an overemphasized massive low end. Plopp-ploppplopp-plopp. Dead drums.
Sure, all his bands deal with a highly compressed sound. But drums could sound very vital, too. E. g. Alex van Halen, Neil Peart, German drummer Janosch Rathmer of LONG DISTANCE CALLING (Post-Rock instrumental band; additionally he has a Black Metal band named PERISH and was formerly drummer of the Melodic-Death Metal band MISERY SPEAKS), Blues guitarist/singer, producer, label owner Henrik Freischlader (a friend of Joe Bonamassa).
What are your impressions? Do you agree with me?
